My underfloor heating isn't working. Is it the cable or the controller?

Nine times out of ten the issue with underfloor heating is the controller (thermostat).
An underfloor heating thermostat is an electrical appliance that will fail over time. The thermostat is often in an area with a level of moisture like a bathroom. Moisture and an electrical appliance is never a good combination!
Thermostats for underfloor heating can be replaced. Heatwell provides a thermostat replacement service in Auckland. Additionally, Heatwell sells replacement thermostats that any qualified electrician can install.
Damage to an underfloor cable will only happen if the floor has shifted or the cable was damaged during installation. Damage during installation may create a hot spot that can burn out even after years of use.
Heatwell does a continuity test and takes an ohms reading to ensure the underfloor heating cable is still operational.
