Pro Series Underfloor Heating Cable
Heatwell Pro Series is a twin-core electric underfloor heating cable designed by Heatwell in New Zealand and manufactured to Heatwell's specifications. It carries a New Zealand Supplier Declaration of Conformity and a 25-year manufacturer's warranty.
Heatwells' Pro Series underfloor heating cable has a FEP inner layer and a FEP outer layer. The FEP has been modified to have very little cable memory. The Pro Series is 10W per lineal metre, has a single cold tail at 2.5m, and is oval at 1.8 x 2.7mm. The Pro Series has copper heating elements, a copper earth wire, and comes with 2 10kOhm floor probes (1 x Primary 1 x Spare).
Heatwells' Pro Series cable is made by a large international Chinese supplier that is AS9100 and CE certified. The Chinese supplier has outstanding quality control and offers excellent quality assurance. The Pro Series cable comes with a 25-year manufacturers'' warranty.
The Pro Series underfloor heating cable is an installer's dream! There is only one cold tail. One cold tail is much easier to draw up the wall to the thermostat mount. One cold tail also means planning of the cable layout is much simpler. The cable plan does not need an even number of runs as the cable plan does not need a return route for the second cold tail!
The Pro Series cable has been designed to be 10W per lineal metre with the installer in mind. Figuring out the spacing between cables is now very easy! Does the installer wants 150W per square metre (recommended under tile)? 150W divided by 10 is 15 lengths. 1000mm / 15 = 67mm spacing. Does the installer wants 180W per square metre (recommended under slate)? 180W divided by 10 is 18 lengths. 1000mm / 18 = 56mm.
Heatwells' Pro Series currently comes in 7 different sizes; 500W, 550W, 600W, 650W, 700W, 750W, and 800W.

Heatwells' Measuring App
Unlike most other electrical cable, underfloor heating cable cannot be cut to length. Cutting an underfloor heating cable will void warranty. Determining the right size cable, in Watts, is vital before installation. Heatwell has designed an app to help both the professional installer and the DIY customer determine the area required for underfloor heating, and the size underfloor heating cable required to cover that area.
