The Pro Series is for the professional installer. Heatwell uses the Pro Series for all of our underfloor heating installations. The Pro Series is designed for speed of install and only adds 4mm to the floor height.
The Gold Series is for both the professional installer and the DIY market. The Gold Series is a little larger in diameter than the Pro Series and will therefore add 0.5mm more to the floor depth and requires more screed. However, the Gold Series is significantly cheaper.
The underfloor heating kits include the Gold Series Cable, two floor probes, the HT4 thermostat, 14mm cloth tape, and adhesive spray. Everything required for a single underfloor heating install.
Pro Series Underfloor Heating Cable
Heatwells' exclusive Pro Series of underfloor heating cable has been developed using many years of installation experience. The Pro Series has been developed with both the installer and the end user in mind.
The Pro Series comes with a 25-year warranty*.
The Pro Series has four resistance elements that are covered by a PTFE layer of inner insulation. A copper braid is woven over the inner insulation. The copper braid is connected to the earth of the cold tail. The copper braid is then covered with another layer of PTFE.
PTFE is the type of plastic used in the construction of the heating cable. PTFE has high strength and has a large operating range. More importantly PTFE is flexible and has very little cable memory. Making the heating cable very easy to install.
The PTFE cable is sourced and cut to length in India. Our Indian supplier is AS9100 certified. Our supplier conducts quality control and testing throughout the manufacturing process. The Pro Series cable has its cold tails installed in New Zealand. The cold tails are all high-quality copper. The cold tail earth wire is single core copper. The completed unit is then tested in New Zealand.
All of the Pro Series cables are sold with two floor probes. One floor probe being the primary, the other being a backup. Both floor probes are 10 kOhm's.

Gold Series Underfloor Heating Cable
Heatwells' exclusive Gold Series of underfloor heating cable has recently been developed. The Gold Series has been developed with both the DIY and professional installer in mind.
The Pro Series comes with a 15-year warranty*.
The Gold Series has four resistance elements that are covered by a FEP layer of inner insulation. A copper braid is woven over the inner insulation. The copper braid is connected to the earth of the cold tail. The copper braid is then covered with another layer of PVC. The PVC has been modified to allow the cable to be flexible and have very little cable memory.
The Gold Series cable is sourced and manufactured in China. Our Chinese supplier is AS9100 and CE certified. The Chinese suppliers quality control is outstanding. They source, manufacture and test every single raw material throughout the manufacturing process. All Gold Series are tested and can be tracked back to batch.
A 15-year warrantee has been given by the manufacturer. However, if the installer follows the Heatwell Best Practice, the cable will easily last the lifetime of the install.
